I guess I kinda need a definition about what this is:
The Doubles Contest is a giant game, where people in teams of two compete in various mini games for points. The team at the end of the Game wins. If you wish to enter, find a partner, and then ask me to invite you into this group.
So, I realize that this thing isn't going to happen until summer, but I was bored and figured we could get a head start on it. Cause like this is a really cool idea, it just needs a little work. So I decided on a list of things we need to get done in order to make this work. None of these have to be done anytime soon, but they should be done before the games begin.
1) Create teams.
*Make sure every person wanting to participate has a partner.
*This is going to be the easiest one (hopefully), and shouldn't take that long
*We also need to create some system so that people can't join after a certain date, or if they do they are to be penalized or something? What are your thoughts on that one?
*I'm going to display who is with who by having team members be Officers with the title "Team _____" where ____ is the team name. So, u can just write on the wall and say who you're with, and then get the other person to confirm it, and then you're an official team! You can always change your teams, but only until the games start.
2) Create all the events.
*I suggest that in order for an event to be created, there needs to be a vote. At least 50 percent of the teams (not the people) need to agree that they want that event to be in the games. That way it stops people from choosing awful events that one person is guaranteed to win, such as fastest strumming time on guitar, or longest time standing on no feet.
3) Create rules/ Scoring system for each event
*This one is most likely going to take the longest, due to all the arguing that I know is going to happen.
*My suggestion is that every event is graded on a tiered scoring system. 3 for 1st place 2 for 2nd place 1 for 1st place.
*How we decided the rules is going to have to be a team effort. I suggest that we create a thread for each Event, and then we decuss rules there.
4) Figure out where each event is going to be held
*This can be done in the thread section
5)Figure out when each event is going to be held.
*This can also be done in the thread section.
6)Actually have the events
*If we can't do this one...
7) A better name
*"The Doubles Contest"?? really? we can do better than that...
